As part of the EU-funded TARGET-X initiative, WatchBuilt is piloting its construction monitoring solution in real-life, 5G-enabled testbeds. This project brings together industrial players and tech innovators to explore the potential of 5G in mission-critical sectors—such as manufacturing and construction.

For WatchBuilt, the TARGET-X project is an opportunity to validate how 5G enhances real-time construction tracking. Our solution combines LiDAR-based scanning, automated BIM comparison, and cloud-based analytics. With 5G integration, data from the construction site is transmitted almost instantly, enabling timely progress updates, faster clash detection, and seamless project coordination.

During the project, WatchBuilt has collaborated with academic and industry partners at facilities like RWTH Aachen’s 5G-Industry Campus Europe and BUILT CoLAB in Portugal. These collaborations allow us to test under real site conditions and push forward the frontier of digital construction powered by AI and ultra-low-latency connectivity.

Do we need to operate the scanner ourselves?

No. Currently, WatchBuilt includes scanning as a service. Our team performs regular on-site scans based on a pre-agreed schedule to ensure data quality and ease of use.

What kind of hardware is used?

How accurate is your system?

Who owns the data?
